I think the image on the left is my most successful photo taken for this assignment. I would compare it to Joel Meyerowitz's photo on the right because it represents people going about their day-to-day lives. The most challenging part of this assignment was capturing the emotions in Meyerowitz's work. A lot of his photography made me wonder what the subjects were feeling, and I don't believe my photos did the same thing. In the future to create stronger images, I will look for a more story telling scene to draw the audience to think deeper about what is going on.

Hi Nikki! I absolutely love this photograph. The lighting is great and the focus is sharp, and you effectively used the Rule of Thirds to capture your subject matter in a way that’s pleasing to the eye. I know you pointed out that you wish you were able to better emulate Meyerowitz’ ability to capture emotion, but I’d definitely say you were successful in that regard with this image. I like how two of your subjects are clearly interested in the nearby dog, with the dog’s owner smiling slightly, while the other individual looks off into the distance – it makes me wonder she’s thinking about.

Hi Jill! I think you did such a great job with this assignment. I definitely get the same vibe from your photo as the professional photo you picked. I think Alexandra's comment on the different color contrast is super interesting too. It adds a personal touch! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Nikki! I think you did a great job at emulating Meyerowitz's work. I really like how you were able to capture students sitting together, watching the dog walk by. I think the depth of field you used compliments the scene very well. Additionally, I really liked the choice you made with the lighting, as the shadows from the trees onto the ground are similar to that of Meyerowitz's photo. If I were to make this image more appealing and more similar to that of the photographer, I would look into possibly adjusting the color saturation. Great job! -Isabella Leite
Hi Nikki, I love this photo! I think it captures a similar story to the photographer you chose. Each photo brings me a sense of peace because they both seem like calming landscapes. Great job! - jill d
Hi Nikki, I agree that this is a great photograph. I think that similar to Meyerowitz's photo, it highlights the different lives people live in one photograph. While going about their lives, these people are connected together in this moment. Overall, I think this is a great photo!
